Ok, I got it to work! I'm using the PreBrew method, and after installing the program, it seemed to me that the Novacom Drivers were installed correctly, but apparently they were not. I went to my Start>Programs>PreBrew(I think thats what it is as I'm at work and don't have my laptop w. me)>and then click on the top program, the one above PreBrew emulator, and choose option 9, and it will install the Novacom again. After I rebooted, I then turned off my firewall temporarily, although I didn't try installing the apps with the firewall on, so I don't know if this has anything to do with it. Now when I dropped the icon for the app on the 'Drop files here program' it worked!!!
Try this to all who were having problems. Oh by the way, I got this troubleshooting tip from the first post on this thread. http://predev.wikidot.com/installing...st-1-04-update its the part that states: "If you have driver installation issues firstly reboot. If you still have issues run the PreBrew console from START MENU>Programs>Prebrew and try option 9 then reboot. If this doesn't work try option 10 and reboot." |

I'm not all that computer savvy but I can follow directions and this was great.
Thanks for helping me get a few anti-boredom devices added to my new Pre. I have to say that being the girl with the cool toy in my group of nerd friends just got even better since I learned how this works.

Btw, did you install that option 9 thing while your phone was plugged into the usb drive on 'just charge' mode? that was the way i did it and it worked. i tried the option 9 when my phone wasn't plugged in, and it didn't work. once i plugged it in, the driver was installed correctly. |
