I understand that John but the issue is that some people, such as true "blondes" cannot do simple math, how will they know to move the decimal??? People want to simple enter what is on the bill how it is and get the correct results and make it their decision round up or not.

i agree with PreGame. it's such a useful app, and he's the only game in town as far as tip calculators go and people are obviously asking for the decimal. it's not difficult to fix for a developer of his caliber and honestly as it's been said here previously, it's not really his place to determine whether people round up or not. but it's his app so he can do what he wants i suppose.

however, if this app got into the Catalog, i'd buy a less-"slick" looking app that's equally as functional over this one with no decimal.

I realize your shooting for a "pre" feel, but I think lists seem a bit inefficient when I have a button pad right there..

Why not make the Tax %, Tip %, and People all be text boxes, then people can just type in whatever the rate is, instead of scrolling through a million options? I know javascript is tough to pull variables from textboxes on the fly, so perhaps a "Calculate" button would be in order as well. Or maybe i'm crazy and you've already tried that route, and found it harder to do, who knows.

I'm debating doing this myself, but I hate "borrowing" code , and i'll wait for the official SDK to hit.

jwz has released his own update to Tip Calc, now featuring a "Scrooge" decimal mode.

Version 1.0.5: http://www.jwz.org/tipcalculator/

Thanks for the update, jwz, and I promise I will be magnanimous. I just like to see what I'm doing.

scrooge mode is a nice way to add that functionally. Great job on the app.

it would be nice if there was an option for 8.75% tax.

This app assumes you put the ammount before taxes are added to the bill, in many cases taxes are already written to the total of the bill can someone fix that or add an option.

It's already part of the app. Just select "Included" from the tax list.
