Hey folks, it's time to get the Chicago webOS Meetup thread going again. That is if we still have any Chicago peeps still hanging around.

On an unrelated note, it sounds like you're back home from the business trip, but it still says "Location: Los Angeles, CA" in your profile

I think there was one just announced for end of July. I was considering the possibility of going when it was scheduled for 21st, but I think it's a week after that now.

Yes these are still happening. I do believe the current one is July 28th. Come to the moretti's in Schaumburg on that date around 7pm to attend. These will continue for the foreseeable future.

webOS meetups... never been to one... but if I were to host/present...

I would show users how easy it is to make a custom doctor using the meta doctor application explore the power of module replacement (webOS 3.0.5 on a Pre2)...

Have a display of all the webOS devices (like a museum)...

Then the best for last show users a webOS 3.0.5/Open webOS mashed device (x86)...

And of course a hack-a-thon, use a bunch of custom made doctors (made from the above presentation), to update your phone/touchpad to do things you did not know it could do...

Then talk and eat... Share the webOS love...

Looked into the Chicago it is a 5 hour drive...

Of course I would not say I can present, without having the material to present...

I have shared many scripts with this wonderful community...

(PixiPlus webOS 2.1.0, PrePlus 2.2.4, Pre2 webOS 2.2.4, Pre3 webOS 2.2.5, Veer webOS 2.2.4, Touchpad Go 3.0.5)... just to list a few...

I know :-) I'd be happy to see some of the other things you mentioned as well, I know you're the Doctor guru :-) Too bad I'm in Europe and hardly ever in the US for a meetup :-( I think the community could really benefit from your presentation even when it's just in Powerpoint or similar because most people won't be able to meet in real life. It might actually give people some ideas and spark new creativity and development :-)

The next Chiwebosmeetup will be 1/26/14 at the usual Morettis in Schaumburg. Hope to see lots of people show up. Good talk about ACL and webOS Tvs etc.. Also always help with questions or problems with your webOS devices.

Hi,

pivotCE would be interested in any information about this event.

Did it occur? How many attended? What was discussed or demonstrated?

We are interested in any stories, pictures and video.
