wushu will have quite a drive no matter what, I'm afraid.

Using mezzoman, Northbrook, IL is about the midpoint of mgb, Jesse, and me.

Darn, and I just found a place in Schaumburg.
Moretti's - turns out they DO have a patio, plus 20 & under friendly, plus food, plus a bar.

I can start looking at Northbrook, but I'm going out of town Sat AM for a week, so can't promise anything.

I can do Northbrook, however would much rather do Schaumburg. Either way, the most important thing to me is that we make this happen. I imagine that if we could just get this first one out of the way, the following meetups would be a little easier to organize.

Ok, lets do Schaumburg then. It's fine by me.

How far is Schaumburg from Darien? I can never remember...

Schaumburg it is then? I'll give ya'll 24 hours to speak against it, before I call them

I'm going to go with the 15th, or 2 weeks from Friday, say around 7:30?

I love where this is going. Though I wouldn't be able to do a small initial meetup (I'm on the other side of lake MI from the IL/WI border, South Haven, MI), a conference with high-profile attendees and speakers would definitely be worth the trip. I'm very interested in deving for the platform now that enyo is out of the early access program. A leg-up would be great.

BTW, I posted this from my new TouchPad

Nice! I'll be passing through your quaint little burg tomorrow on my way to Muskegon for the 4th! Hopefully Tim can get the ball re-rolling for a bigger meetup here.

Still working on it. Might be later in the year than first expected, due to device launches and such. We shall see.

    So MGb,
Do you know if Moretti's has a large dinning area, in the event that we get a larger showing?

    Everyone,
I think that we should create a Chicago webOS social group. I was originally thinking that we could use meetup.com. They charge $12/month for their service. However, I saw this morning that WebOS World created theirs (webOS Boston) using BigTent (bigtent.com). I did a little snooping and found that BigTent's service is free. Since the "Midwest Conference" event has been put on hold, maybe we'd also want to create a new thread specifically for a "Chicago" meetup.

Please let me know what you guys think.

I think a Chicago social group on either sounds great. I've used Meetup.com and it's a great service, but you do have to pay for it. Either way, I'll be on the lookout for it!

Just found this thread and am interested in a Schaumburg meetup. I do webOS dev as a hobby and live in Schaumburg. Lookin' at my schedule now to see if I can swing the 15th...

Moretti's is a pretty big place, so a larger table shouldn't be a problem. I called them last week (before I went out of town) and was told I wasn't able to make a reservation for the patio until day of because it's weather permitting. Umm, kay. So I'll call day of base don the number of RSVP's I get here. So far about 5 I think.

As far as a meetup group - Sure, I'd be happy to join.
As far as a separate thread - I'd say sure if a Mod would be so kind as to split the thread back when we started talking about a smaller meetup (I don't want any details to be missed) - Maybe around Msg #82 or so - http://forums.precentral.net/2992966-post82.html

I'd like to see Jesse promote this gathering as well on a...ahem...different website....wink wink that he might do some stuff for? Nudge nudge...
