Hi, everyone.
According to this article, a recent study by Mplayit reveals that most smartphone users tend to choose the same apps regardless of their platform of choice (iPhone/Android/BlackBerry). As you may see in the table, there are certain apps (Evernote, Pandora, Yelp, Facebook...) that were used by most of them. So, what do you think? Do you share the same tastes with these users or do you prefer another kind of apps? Do you think developers should focus in making these services/apps available for webOS or create innovative apps that could set a difference between our platform and the rest? Does the number of available apps at the different AppStores matter if in the end users are basically choosing a limited set of them? |

Obviously, the social aspects of us has us gravitating towards certain outlets... Facebook, Foursquare, Skype, etc. So it makes sense that no matter what platform we are on, we would tend to have a very similar collection of wants and needs.
Take a look at people's computers...there tends to me a similar group of apps on our machines depending on our likes. Even when hardware limits us, we find ways to get what we want (emulators, virtual machines, open source) onto what we have. Too bad they didnt recognize webOS in that survey!! |

![]() Most of these select apps even exist on feature/multimedia phones. What matters to consumers is having the options. People hate giving up options.
