Default Package Manager fixed 1.3.1?

I had a lot of issues with 1.3.1. A bit sluggish in some areas, suddenly no room for apps (even after deleting many), and bad battery life issues.

So, I decide to update Preware and thus the Package Manager service.

Now, I can install apps, no more batter life issues, and everything seems a lot faster. I did not install mvapp, or anything else. Just updated Package Manager and Preware. No themes, and only 2 patches after 1.3.1 update (from old Preware version, and from before the update).

1.) Does anyone know why this would fix some issues?
2.) Will this help some other people having 1.3.1 issues?

That one Preware can take some credit for.
