Dataviz has said the full Docs2Go will be out in early 2010.

Now that it seems this is never coming, are there any other apps out there?

Dataviz will likely wait until "hybrid apps", using both the SDK and the PDK, can be sold in the app catalog.

In the meantime, Scratch is a word processor for WebOS. And as of today, there's even a free beta to get you started.

Anyone have any inside information or guess as to when these "hybrid apps" will be in the app catalog?

It's been rumored that hybrid apps will be possible with 1.4.5, when the App Catalog gets full PDK support (for everyone) instead of the hand-picked apps we're getting now.

That being said, since my original comment in November, Dataviz has given an update that they have no plans to do a full document editor for webOS at this time:

Hybrid apps are not a part of 1.4.5.

Maybe now that Palm is a Subsidiary of HP, HP can put pressure on DataViz. HP it's time to flex your muscle and show the loyal Palm users that you support the Pre+/Pixi+.
