    Herrie, are you scanning the beta channel, or web channel as well? Oyherwise other people could focus on those, still we have quite some time left for just downloading, buying app, on that is our current time limit.
    All channels, incorporated your beta and web channel files as well :-) Have around 3300 IPK's now :-) (About 1/3 of total catalog which is < 11000 apps)

    Herrie,

    I've just dumped 2797 app (catalog / beta / web feeds). I know you're doing it, but a 2nd copy cannot hurt (sadly I have only a pre3 - us catalog, so the single token limited me).
    I've also created logs of the 3 operations (what got down/what failed), in case they may be of any use

    This is awesome! What are the plans for all of this once you have dumped all the apps? Are you going to great a custom preware feed? I would imagine copyright would come into play - even with abandonware.

    More like a personal data locker service... if you paid for an app, it's registered in your profile, and if a profile is migrated from HP to the service currently being built, you will get to keep everything you paid for, unless it was removed from the app catalog by HP
    ...

    btw, should I add here the 3 parsed json, so that anyone can do a dump of the free apps (and I assume the ones he paid too) from the 3 feeds/catalogs using the OP program ?
  9. #49
    I think that you should. After all, it would only allow people to download what's free and what they've payed for.

    Fair point.

    so, 3 zip, each should be self explanatory. What you can download is limited by the app compatibility, and by the marketplace your token is linked to.
    (so, Touchpad only app, require a touchpad token, by example)
    I do suppose that you will also be able to download all the paid apps registered in your profile, alongside

    if you want an offline readable log of what you were not able to download

    example :

    Assuming you are in the same directory as the webos-ipk-dump.exe program

    webos-ipk-dump [token] [uid/imei] palm-catalog2.json > palm-catalog-log.txt
    creates a palm-catalog-log.txt file with a copy of all the message logs obtained while downloading, located in the same directory

    If there's some "extra" feed lurking around, I could fix it...

    why are all apps in there with those "appartists.worldclock" fakeinfos, eg. "Bahnfahren"-app:
    Code:
    "publicApplicationId": "com.appartists.worldclock",
    "title": "World Clock",
    "creator": "App Artists",
    "version": "1.0.1",
    "vendorURL": "http://appartist.posterous.com/",

    because I'm a slacker

    there are only some lines that webos-ipk-dump checks for sure
    all the rest is just ignored. since is ignored (but I didn't know it was, and also to play safe) I just put it fix. I could also have omitted them.
    the original feeds can be parsed to extract part of these things that I put fix, except size

    "1": { required unique a
    "appId": 1, required unique b
    "publicApplicationId": "com.appartists.worldclock",
    "title": "World Clock",

    I already harvested pretty much everything from the beta, web and all feeds

    From the 3985 free apps, I have 3560 IPK's. Still need to see if I can improve it a bit.

    Also need to check with some other tokens to see if I could retrieve a few more.

    How much space does that take up? I have 186 apps that take up 3.35GB.

    as app catalog download is failing before 1.Nov Oct 30...HP APP Catalog downloads fail, this seems the only way to get apps you just bought. Didn't they say updates/dl are possible still jan?

    Correct. The letter said "app purchases" would end on Nov 1st.

    Legally, a "purchase" is when you exchange something of value (particularly money) for something that also has value. A free app download is not a purchase.

    So this is totally wrong, they are screwing us over. I guess it's time to call them out on their bull****

    well perhaps they are just preparing app cat for the seize of buying option on Nov 1th and it's judt s glitch now (i like to be optimistic). Should discuss it in the other thread. This one here is for ipk dumping which still works atm
  18. #58
    Emergency (sort of).

    We are missing for sure one Feed hosted by hpsvcs ... found it by chance. This free ipk is a newer version (and way bigger) than the one provided in palm-web. The pre3 correctly goes to it clicking on this

    http://developer.palm.com/appredirec...stpass.lpwebos

    (but fails to download due to the App Catalog problem). I think it would be useful to find this feed (and dump it)

    IT CAN BE DOWNLOADED USING THE IPK SCRIPT IN THIS THREAD

    Thanks to Impostah :
