I have same problem on TP. BUT, the problem extends to my Iphone also. I don't receive a security certificate error on the iphone, it just doesn't sync email, calendar or contacts.

I have attempted to contact MS-Outlook.com to no avail. All the support sites dump me back to the Outlook.com login page.

Does anyone have a contact for MS that works?

Where did the original MS message you mentioned come from - is there a route into MS that we should use to report the scale of the issue (number of users/type of devices impacted)?

When you go to Microsoft Support for Outlook.com, one of the first things they point you to is the Status page. That page shows known problems they are currently working on.

As of last night, everything was showing working but I still couldn't connect with my Pre3.

Boy, they sure make you dig for it. :\

I found a post in their forums on the issue, and posted a link to this thread:

I have found that logging into my Outlook and Exchange accounts using my Pre 3 and Touchpad web browsers results in a dialog asking me if I trust the expired certificates. When I press the "trust always" button, the email app begins to access the account as usual.

Hey Jerry! You made my day!

I had just to open https://s.outlook.com (an empty page) and had to click "Trust allways". So easy!

    Thanks a lot!

Did not work for. Did as suggested. Warning triangle persisted on MS email accts. Restarted. Warnings came up again.

    Sigh.

I do not get prompted to accept a certificate in the browser - I may have in the past, but I don't recall.

Tried this with my Pre 2 and TP. No joy. Sigh!

Update and clarification: I did not get prompted at https://m.outlook.com, but when I tried https://m.hotmail.com, I DID get prompted. I selected Trust Certificate and the checked and found it in my stored certs under device info, with an expiration date of 2016. I then went back to my inbox and tapped the error triangle, dismissed the error message, and then it did successfully download new messages.

What is that? Is it a pre-installed file on webOS? I looked at them and I noticed that 2 or 3 other of those files that start with the name GlobalSign expired on 1-27.

    It worked for me!

    1) Go to https://s.outlook.com (it seems working even with https://m.hotmail.com )
    2) When prompted, Trust Certificate
    3) Go on Email and sync the email accounts and all will properly sync again (additionally you can do a reboot - just to be sure, but it wasn't required to my Pre3 and TouchPad)

    Easy and clean after all!

    Thanks guys! Especially Jerry!

so i did this and and it added a new *.hotmail *.outlook cert to the webos cert container. it is signed by new globalsign root ca. perhaps we really only have the old globalsign ca on webos (as toto-w tried to tell us above) :

    https://support.globalsign.com/custo...ca-certificate

    1998-2014 Root CA Certificate

The Root CA with serial number 02 00 00 00 00 00 d6 78 b7 94 05 has an expiration of Jan 28 2014.* From 2007 onwards, this root has been replaced with a refreshed Certificate using the same key material and maintaining the same Subject DN information and key usages, however expiring in 2028.* For those already using the refreshed Root CA Certificate, there is no need to update. This has already been embedded in all major browsers, operating systems, devices and applications.

So perhaps adding a new globalsign ca cert could also cure those probs

I believe you are correct. We can download it from their site?
  17. #57
as i don't use ms servers, i can't test which would be the correct one. And have no time for low level cert chain analysis.

Brilliant, thank you Grabber5.0. Accepting at m.outlook.com immediately resolved the issue. Much appreciated.

Thank you from here as well, nice easy fix. I would also like to add that my first attempt failed as I was unable to load m.hotmail.com due to an error. A quick clear history, cookies and cache under browser preferences allowed me to open m.hotmail.com and trust certificate. Love this forum and the help is appreciated.

This worked for me too. Strange thing is that this was the first thing I tried yesterday without success.
Right now it worked like a charm.
