Nice try -- but this is NOT Samsung saying this, it is a writer who has a love for webOS so he is seeing everything through those glasses.

Android Beam is Touch-to-Share. Sorry to tell you this but HP stole "touch to share" from someone else -- and I mean the name and not the technology. The technology pre-dates HP even having the glint in their eye to destroy webOS.

People app is Synergy. Lots of other things have surrounded grabbing date from a contact list to present it to different apps, etc. That would be a very tough sell.

And to top it all off, these are present in Android 4.0 -- not just by Samsung. Why would they sue Samsung -- they would have to sue Google.

The aggregating of contact information from different sources already existed in HTC Sense, and to a lesser degree in stock Android.

Plus people were demoing the potential of NFC to do this three or four years ago. Even when HP released it, TTS was a dead-end because of it's propriety nature in a NFC world.

Beam is a bit of a red-herring anyway, it's simple a easy way to get you use to using NFC - what google is really interested in is most people (and businesses) adopting it's google wallet for mobile payments and thus making it competitive with other people in that space.
