    I've just been reading about windows8 on engadget. They mentioned, swipe to bring up menus and TTS.

    Is HP going to be getting licensing fees? I assume HP has a patent on these interfaces??

    touch to share? NFC predates it by a number of years and is more useful to boot.

    HP would NEVER be able to get licensing fees for TTS -- not only does the technology predate HP's work with this, but HP even reused the name "Tap to Share":

    It was kind of a facetious comment.

    With all the 'who is going to buy webOS?' and 'will xxxx license webOS?'... I was really trying to point out that other operating systems have caught up, and in some cases gone past, some of the touted features of webOS. And I thought it ironic to ask if MS would license the feature or if HP would sue!!

    I'm pleased to see some of the useful features of webOS being used by others. It makes leaving the platform so much easier!
