    To me it is obvious

    • It will be fat cheaper to buy than Motorola mobility (and why not both)
    • It will not create conflict with other manufacturers
    • The patent portfolio is probably at least as good as Motorola's, if not much better
    • Both are Linux based and so porting the best features of WebOS to Android should not need more than a year of tinkering
    • They will inherit quite few OS developer top talents to add to their portfolio
    • (probably) Google is where most of existing WebOS staff would rather be

    Never gonna happen. Far too invested in Android, if they wanted them they coulda done it the first time.
