Not sure we can believe anything HP says these days, but they apparently held an all-hands meeting yesterday evening after dropping the bomb to assure employees that they will NOT be walking away from WebOS. At face value, it seems HP felt incapable of delivering quality, competitive hardware and still believes in WebOS. Taking everything they say with a grain of salt. Whether anyone is remotely interested in licensing remains to be seen. Perhaps HP could license it at a bargain price? If a Samsung or someone could license for a cheap enough price, it might be worth the risk on their end just to see what happens. Surely they realize, people aren't going to pay mad money for a twice-failed OS.

P.S. In spite of their insistence in holding onto WebOS, HP did concede there will be staff reductions since they won't be pursuing hardware anymore.
