Since I assume most of us use data plans with our palm devices, I'm curious to know how fast our devices can get wireless data.

You can use a mobile speed test website, like : Mobile Speed test

Here is my results, wich I find satisfying

it depends on the area and your provider, but personally I think 50kb/s is pretty bad result

Airtel shows the server speed of 460.8Kbps but the downloading speed is 22-30Kbps. It costs about 15 Rs per day with unlimited download. So it is about 465 Rs per month.
It can be connected to PC.
If you wnat to buy NOP then it 2 Rs per day but limited downloading.
But still if you want Gprs connection then i recommend Airtel than any other network.

pingtest tends to show much worse results than speedtest.net, and as a result, I just don't use it. Maybe in six months when AT&T releases WebOS for the Pre Plus, I will be able to really test the speed from my phone.

evdo 1x is going to be 50-80k down and about 25k up. That's what I got on my centro, which was a big reason I upgraded to the Pre.

not sure about my phone but tethered I get over 200kb/s all the time. I know that with a much faster powerful pc your speed will be a little faster than in my phones browser.

here is what I got just now. I live in prescott az. Now where 3G is brand new for sprint. I know it was much better in mesa az. If you take your score and divide by 8 you get KB/s. So mine would be around 59KB/s.
