Also, is there a way to see which apps boot in the background after starting up the phone?

Jstop is one way... It's an app available in Preware.

You can use jstop to see what is running within the luna environment. For all the other stuff, read the directions for root access to the phone and use the normal utilities (top, lsof, etc). For starting processes and services, webos uses upstart.

Simple, just use the task manager.

(Oh, wait, Mr Jobs said we shouldn't have one...)

    That's why I said "shouldn't" instead of "can't".
