Don't know why I never noticed it before but my wife asked me last night as she had an SMS on her Pre...

Is there a better SMS app then the default that would give timestamps ?

There are a couple patches that add Timestamps, I prefer Timestamps Clean patch. Install via Preware or WebOS Quick Install.
If you found my post useful then please sign up for a Dropbox Account, I could use the extra 250mb of storage.

HOW TO: Zip/Unzip via Pre/Pixi using Terminal
HOW TO: Modify DTMF audio (webOS 1.4.5 or earlier)

Best bet to keep it clean then would be to use WebOS Quick Install.

one thing to keep in mind - there is one patch (timestamps fancy, i think), which causes the wordwrap to not work. i.e. words will be split at the end of the screen and not move to the next line if too long.
