I am on my way to Australia (like in an hour), and a Sprint rep just informed me that my Pre won't be able to access my hotel's Wi-Fi "because the internet is different in Australia".

At first this sounded really stupid, but I figured I'd cover my bases.
    Is there really a difference?

And is there any way to get it to work?

Wi-Fi would not be different. (I am using a Spanish Pre's Wi-Fi is Aus) But, as you probably realise, we don't have CDMA anymore. You probably need a more credible source than a Sprint rep, before worrying.

Wifi will be fine. Cellular will be no-go.

But you will have to send me a donation to get access to the "different internet" in Australia
