This is really annoying - all of a sudden, all of the bookmarks on my browser seem to have disappeared. Furthermore, if I try adding a new bookmark, it doesn't show up either.

The browser works fine - I can enter a URL in the address bar and the web page will load up just fine. But I can't create any bookmarks.

Anyone have any idea what could cause this?

Seems like your not the only one in the past day or two. Weird...

My best bet would be to use WebOS Repair Utility on the browser application.

OK, after looking at the above post and checking, I noticed my history is gone also, and nothing seems to be getting added to it.

Any solutions to the problem (other than webOS dr) ?

None that I know of. Contact Palm and see if they know. It seems like a recent issue so it could involve the Palm Profile.

I hate to be negative, but I think it has something to do with "save/restore" or "Prebackup utility" I vaguely remember updating one of those programs. It could be some corrupt file that holds both of that info??? I dunno I'm just speculating. I'm just gonna wait and see if 1.4.5.1 overwrites these files by chance and then things will work themselves out.

I don't think it's a profile issue, because mine hadn't back itself up for a few days prior to this issue happening.

I've had it happen a few times over the past week or so. A reboot seems to restore them, until it happens again. Not sure what causes it...

Been nearly a month now and I'm still having this issue - no bookmarks or history.

HardBeatZ if you're reading this, any possible solution?

    thanks,
    Jim

    Users having the issue..

Is it just your old bookmarks are blank or new ones as well?
Can someone walk me through adding a bookmark and what you see on the device and what happens?
    Troubleshooting done?
Does all users have patches etc? (not that I'm trying to say it is a patch issue, but it helps figure things out).

Old bookmarks vanished mysteriously - launching the browser brings up a blank screen with URL bar & cursor, blended blue background which normally shows behind the bookmarks.

When I add a new bookmark, it appears to function properly. (Dialog box shows title, URL, and Add Bookmark button). Tap on "Add Bookmark" and the prompt goes away. Then if you tap on the main browser dropdown menu, tap on "Bookmarks", you get the screen with Bookmarks at the top, but the rest is blank white. If you close out browser and re-launch, you are back to the blue screen with the address bar at the top, no bookmarks.

When I try to view History, it is also blank - no matter how much web browsing has done.

Web browsing itself works fine, universal search works fine.

Only real troubleshooting has been restarting. Done that many many times over the last few weeks. Someone previously posted that running webOS Dr should fix it, but I would rather live without the bookmarks than go to that extreme. (Can always use universal search to find what I need).

Have quite a few patches, but had not added any recently before this problem started, and have not added any patches since.

Others please feel free to PM so we can collect some log files from the devices and see what is causing the issue. Also answers to my previous questions is very helpful.

mine is the exact same as them two. I've even gone as far as removing all patches and themes...then I ran Jason's Repair Utility...and it was still the same. So, mine seemed to happen after my battery died, and I swapped the battery. What Log files would you like me to send you?

Here are the instructions that HardBeatZ PM'd me:

Let's get some log files from your device so we can see what is processing in the background

    1. Reproduce this issue (try adding a bookmark)
    2. After reproducing the issue launch the phone application
    3. Type ##LOGS# on the virtual dialpad
    4. Select quick log create

In the email please include your forum username and what the issue is for so I can match your issue to your log file.

    Thank you,
    HardBeatZ

So nothing we can do for the time being to be able to create bookmarks?

(I'm using the Memos app right now to list URLs I need to tap to access, and universal search works pretty well to find something in Google or Wikipedia).
