that's always a possiblility, but i think coming up with their own os would require a lot of time. and besides, they have mentioned utilizing webos on printers which would only make sense if they could be used together with a webos device (phone, slate, etc)...and using reasoning i would think that they wouldnt make a webos printer to print from a pre, to me that means they have future plans for webos or they wouldnt be talking about making a printer work with webos. cuz really...whats the point of utilizing webos for a printer then having it print wirelessly from a windows based device....you can already do that and there is no need to put webos on it....unless you have more plans for it

I'm not sure you understood exactly what I was trying to say, but for clarification, I was referring to webos as their own os on their own devices. Once they complete the purchase of palm, webos will be their own os.

What we need to look at is the other industries that hp has and is making a push into. webOS is a totally cloud based os and hp has several cloud services like it's snapfish service, and also has a presence in the home server market. Now using pictures and videos as an example any pics or video could be set up to automatically go to your snapfish account, as soon as you get home and connect to your network it could back up said pics and vids to your local hp home server, it would automatically send the pics and videos to your webOS tablet so that way you have consistency across your devices, and to top it all off you can browse through and select which pictures you want to print or even print a frame from the video from your webOS printer all without the user ever having to touch a pc. I know that this is out there but it's all totally possible with the services that hp currently offers.
