With all this news about apple potentially having devs only write in apple "languages", how will this affect the developers? It was said that devs would have to work harder to write for other platforms because of this. Palm claims it is easy to port to webOS, is this true? and will this potentially be the only platform that will not be affected by the assness of apple?

well, webos is really simple, there are a lot of javascript developers out there that can pick up webos in matter of days if not hours.

objective c is a very very different language and very hard to learn. although there are so many apps in apple's store, but in reality there arent that many iphone developers out there, try to post a craigslist you'll find out, and they are not cheap.

    not a problem.

C/C++ can be used on web os using the PDK - this is how we converted our games over. as for javascript, that universal. in fact, you have more choice on the palm pre than you have on the iphone.. do not follow the FUD out there about apple forcing developers to be exclusive, it is not true

they do however, want that anyone using the SDK they provide only distribute through their channels.

can a mp3 music editor app be developed for webos? Alot of request has gone up for an app where you can select what part of a song you would want for ringtone.
