Just read in a german it news site (golem.de) that rightware, a futuremark spin-off, programmed a smartphone webbrowser benchmark.

Here's the (german) article on golem: Browsermark - Benchmark für mobile Webbrowser - Golem.de

And here's the benchmark URL: BrowserMark

According to the article, the editorial staff got these results:

    iPhone 3G: 8.387 points
    Palm Pre: 13.734 points
    iPhone 3GS: 24.609 points
    iPad Wi-Fi: 39.056 points

My 720 MHz kernel benchmarks at 18299 points...

EDIT: should obviously be "phone" in the title - amazing that i can type on the pre if my fingers are too fat to hit the right key on a normal keyboard.

    Third Run Score: 19196 @ 800MHz (Over Sprint 3G)

    Fourth Run Score: 19055 @ 800MHz (Over Sprint 3G)

    Fifth Run Score: 20376 @ 800MHz (Over Wi-Fi)

    Comparison to other mobile phones:

I wonder why I am getting lower numbers. I am not on wifi. 13208 the first time and 11208 the second. I have a feeling wifi will give you a higher number just on the big speed boost alone. I'll try wifi later
