how could I download this video from my pre? Can I do so through terminus?
  10. #10
I'm so very excited about this. You guys are awesome.

But before you try it... note that the video does not seems to be recognized by the Pre. The Video application does not list it as it should... The bitrate is a bit on the high end (1.36 Mbps), that may be the cause.

It does play well on my Netbook when I connect my Pre in USB mode and play the file.

After several tries (not an expert with curl or wget)...

    In the terminus application:

    cd /media/internal/downloads/
    curl -G -d "wkgdeexznrj=" -L -o "patch800vid.mp4" http://www.mediafire.com/

Note that the file is 44MB in size.
    Explanation of curl args :
    -G : do a GET
-d : pass parameters to the url (this is the think causing problems as mediafire is not really generating proper URL and this give wget troubles. and with curl, you need to add the = )
    -L : follow redirect.
-o : filename to save to. because the url has no filename, we must specify it.

Will this patch also work for the Pixi as well?

Just in the interest of documentation/help for all users, can you also provide:

    1. How to uninstall the patch
    2. Talk about whether it needs any reinstalls of patches, apps form official/homebrew
    3. Any pre-step backups that should be done
  14. #14
    sh /var/home/root/720MHzOS1351.sh uninstall
    sh /var/home/root/800MHzOS1351.sh uninstall
    sh /var/home/root/550MHz_OSIndependentpatch.sh uninstall
    sh /var/home/root/600MHz_OSIndependentpatch.sh uninstall
this is the uninstall line command for all kernel patches and their respected speeds.

just enter this code into linux command line and hit enter. If your uninstalling the 720 . Then change the number value to 720 . Its real easy

    One thing I don't understand:

Why hasn't Palm been working with caj/unix to set up extensive testing, etc to look at incorporating this into the official release? At this point, Palm needs to be thinking outside the box.

maybe palm wanted to give us geeks something to do lol
