10 must-have free Palm webOS apps

Note: Unlike Apple, Palm encourages the development of "unofficial" apps, which means there are a lot more webOS apps available through channels other than the official store.

That was a pretty weak list, especially missing Preware. But what else can you expect from computerworld, I guess.

True, but the article mentioned that they were focusing on the catalog due to the complexity involved with other distribution options. Getting started with Preware is not complicated, but it is not simple either.

I think its just good to actually see stories about palm apps. Every website has articles about top-whatever apple apps, nice to see webos getting some love.

Agreed. I think this is demonstrative of the crappy nature of what's available in the App Catalog in general, really. Still, good to see a webOS story of some form.

Not the ones I would have picked but least its WebOS lovin.

Here is mine if anyone is interested:

    1. Pandora
    2. Where
    3. Fandango
    4. Super contacts/Quick Contacts Lite etc
    5. TipIt
    6. AccuWeather
    7. Facebook
    8. Engadget
    9. Mileage Monitor
    10. (Some version of a Twitter client for your Tweeters)

Though not an "app" the mobile precentral format is quite nice too.
And not including games in the "app" category, though you need some on there too...WordAce/CardAce, Reversi, etc
