When using WebOS Doctor, what exactly does it do?
Does it revert the PRE to original settings with 1.0 version of OS?
Do I have to root the phone again?
Do I have to reinstall all apps again?
Do I have to reinstall Homebrews again?

    Thanks

WebOS Doctor is normally used when your phone no longer turns on correctly, or the over the air OS update installed incorrectly and tells you to use WebOS Doctor. It puts in a fresh version of the OS, currently 1.4.0, practically as a clean install. For me, it didn't delete my pictures, or my wallpapers, which was good.

-You will have to root again.

-Official Apps should re-download automatically(maybe not the huge ones like Gameloft games)

-Homebrew will most likely have to be reinstalled.

Thanks for clearing things up for me.
    Another question,

To use Preware or WebOS QI, does the palm have to be rooted?
What is the easiest most current method to root?

    Thanks

I believe the newest versions of both Preware and WebOS QI don't require rooting. They made the software simpler to install using the Palm WebOS Doctor. A quick search for installing either would have got you the links below...
