Just got an update to GTNM and fmp and fmsl are missing from the latest update for that reason. It's uncool Palm stop it!

gtnm lite is on the web feed under preware.

How do you know it is Palm censoring those sites? The developer could have removed them because they were buggy or something.

I am not familiar with "FMP" or "FMSL"... But "FML" does not allow for its content to be displayed in a paid app or an app with ads. Was that a typo?

the app is merely a glorified rss feed reader with the interface tailored to specific feeds.
    palm is requiring built-in censorship.

don't see the issue with what they're doing?

hopefully palm will allow the dev other options (optional filter, user chooses which feeds will populate from list etc.).

I bought this app and am not happy with what's happened.
I suggest reading the thread in question to really understand the situation.

    link to GTNM thread.

I think is messed up for palm to threaten to take the app off the catalog. Reminds me of apple..

If it is just about the content of the feeds...that's unacceptable.

I'm an adult...I don't need Palm's "morality police" deciding what I should or shouldn't look at.

I'm old enough to I set my own moral standards.

I don't have any problems whatsoever with Palm keeping sexual content out of the App Catalog as long as these applications are still available for web distribution.

These aren't pictures.. its just goofy stories. If you buy this app you know what you are doing, have a smartphone, possess a credit card.

This a basically an rss app with preloaded rss feeds. Why should palm interfere.

    Palm pulling an apple.

Yeah, I guess I do not see it that way at all as long as the application can still be installed on the phone without jailbreaking.

Every one complains about apple controlling everything and when palm does it no one cares? Now they can tell any developer what words don't belong on pre.

Unless you are that person, how can you know for certain that the person got banned for censorship reasons? Maybe they got their app removed because they were making a profit off of another company's material? Maybe the company sent a cease and desist letter to palm to take down the unofficial app? But I suppose that doesn't make as good flintwood for your flame palm rant. The thing is you can go to the app catelogue and find plenty of things that would fall under this same category of censorship but haven't been removed. If Palm was so evil would they be actively involved in helping the WebOS Internals team? Moral of the story: Do some research and get evidence before you dive off into crazy land.

Again, as long as web distribution remains a possibility with no filtering whatsoever I do not see the problem here. When Apple bans an application there is no way for users to install the application without jailbreaking their phones. When Palm blocks an application in the catalog (if that is indeed what has happened here) then users can still install it on their phones OTA straight from the developer's website.

The two are not even in the same category.

I completely agree that none of the twitter clients or rss readers are censored and that it is frankly unfair that because gtnm focus' on one genre it is ostracized.

i do now know that, apparently, no vulgar or offensive language is allowed in any part of the app.

No it's not my app. From what the dev is saying "link to thread:http://forums.precentral.net/hidden-...-not-me-4.html " he HAS been censored. Maybe read the post you are responding to better.

the issue isn't that web distribution may (or may not be) a possibility, it's that the author is being ostracized due to the focus area of his apps.

while other rss readers also have the identical ability to display these feeds, they are not being targeted for censorship.
