TapWatch is an awsome stopwatch app (and only $1 in Aus). I recommend anyone who doesn't have this and wants to thank the dev to purchase. Maybe he'll get enough to buy a pizza and you'll have a top quality app that's simple and useful your phone.

I want to thank of all the developers, including "One Crayon" for supporting the WebOS community with our small cause of bringing their WebOS apps to the HomeBrew Catalog. Its one of the many developers, that I had contacted by email and I'm happy to see its official stance on supporting this community.

I can't wait to see more developers coming together and welcoming their apps to WebOS Homebrew.

HUGE Thanks! This community (and the developers are all amazing)!

I also got an answear from Astraware tonight : "If we can find a way to make the games downloadable for free, we will do, but we don't have a working device in the office, and we have absolutely no knowledge of how to build or install for the device anymore! If we can put up the installer files, perhaps someone else can figure it out "

Well, it looks like they're very open to sharing those apps, so we have to options : asking only for their authorization to publish the ipks on the gallery or getting the installer files and work on them. The only thing we need is a webOSnation official member to keep in touch with them.

So... Preemptive or Derek (or whoever else ?) : who can be their contact ? I'll PM him their latest answear.

Well I'm not official! Derek Kessler is managing app gallery access, but if they want to build the apps, perhaps you could connect them with a recently active developer. There is the webOS sdk still available I think or there is the webOS Internals development kit. There is also the IPK packager. If however, they want to simply offer files for others to build, I'd suggest webOS ports are best placed to host these and possibly package up some nice apps with LuneOS (if compatible).

My best suggestion is to research the above and present it to Astraware so it's easy for them to do this by clicking the links. If they have to spend hours scouring the forums, releasing the apps may get continuously pushed down the to do list...

    Thanks for your efforts!

palm-package is quite straight forward in general But not sure this could be used for the Astraware apps

Okay guys, I'm on holydays, so I'll try to do that by myself. I've asked them for the build files.

I may need your help, though...

Looks like they finally found the ipks

"If it's just a matter of uploading the IPK files we should be able to do that

We'll take a look over the next month or two!"

Thanks Astraware, we're impatient !!! (though I already have bought all their games...)

I too like the Astraware games. I haven't bought all of them, but I did buy a good percentage.

    Interesting...

An app store with payment option exists.
    KalemSoft - Store

Could Kalemsoft be persuaded to sell other parties' apps?

For completeness I add a link to this post containing responses from 10tons and Hexage: HP App Catalog and cloud services to be shut down Jan 15, 2015

For those who don't like to follow links on the internet:
    10tons:
We will certainly look into this. No promises at this time though, but we will discuss this internally and take it from there.
    Hexage:
Unfortunately, we no longer support webOS and we can't host our games for free on 3rd party servers (due to licensing and legal issues).

sadly the better NEATO! clone DataJog devoloper Ingeniously Moving Data is giving up:
    Send 2 webOS

THIS APPLICATION WILL NO LONGER BE AVAILABLE AFTER 15 DEC 2014

Thank-you for your support through the years. It is not financially viable to continue the service with the demise of webOS.

    https://www.facebook.com/DataJog/posts/742984462441507

Effective 12/15/2014 the send2webos.com website will no longer be available. Until we pick a new service for the back-end DataJog will no longer operate.

We are interested to know if there is still an interest in DataJog.
It seems it even does not work now anymore

Huh. I have this app. It's really useful - especially to send scraps of data across platforms.

I wonder if it could be turned into a subscription service? Might actually be more profitable that way.

Thanks for your continuing support of webOS. Remember you can include a donation link up front in the app description & there's a chance some solution with a payment option may emerge.

Feel free to post links (including a donation link) on this thread. A full listing of saved apps and developers will be posted later.

We should add Scummvm, they build every new version but adding it to a Preware repo would be a very nice idea.

    Yeah! ScummVM!
I added the link to the source and a link to the webOS specific build instructions. Since it contains building librarys I think it'll take more effort for an "autobuilder". Therefore don't count on an automated adding to preware.
