Offline maps are stored as tiles inside the /media/internal/.MapTool folder. The folder struct is exactly like on OSM tile servers. When using MapTool pro and separate folders per renderer, each renderer has its own sub-folder beneath the .MapTool folder. MapTool Pro includes its own mass tile downloader and comes with an additional smart cache mode, which caches tiles during view.

I'm a GIS/Remote Sensing person, so the more mapping tools I have, the happier I am. I've purchased MapTool Pro ages ago (and asked you to make cache for each renderer), so I'm quite happy with that.

This tool is decent too, I like how fast Enyo renders.

Two things, the display for the normal interface is fine, but when I click on the Routing button (the diamond with the arrow), it goes all wonky.

I'd guess that this is due to the fact that this is not designed for the Pixi, but I figure I'd just let you know

I am aware of the ui issue on phone screens. I'll take a look.

Can you move the map around and pinch zoom (or double tab zoom) on pixi ?

Drag to move works great, pinch to zoom usually just moves the map, never zooms.

Double-tap to zoom works fine, but there is no way to unzoom so...

I've got bluetooth GPS with prego and basic routing instruction working (need some adjustements to be user friendly and not some dev stuff) !!

I'll post a beta release on the forum soon to test this out !

Is this still being worked on? The interface is great and really snappy, but it doesn't seem to be usable on the Pre3. I can't seem to search or get directions, and the map doesn't respond to taps or pinches.

I'm using 1.2.1 on a Pre3 running webOS 2.2.4.

Shouldn't be a problem, you can bundle your own Enyo-version with your app.

I'm actually working on getting offline map working, and i think i'm quite close !

For the phone version, the problem is not enyo, it's the javascript library i use to display maps, leaflet. It's a great piece of software compatible with almost any browser, but sadly not the pre3 or veer one.

I tried to search where does the problem come, but debugging is very difficult on the pre 3. After a lot of research my guess is that the pre3 webkit version do not support standard touch events, so i would have to implement the custom touch event which would be a huge work.

Is there an update to 1.2.2 available? I keep being prompted to install it, yet the download fails. The HP site also shows there's a charge of 99 cents too.

Yep there is an update, but it looks some users have problem with it, so stay with 1.2.1 at the moment. For the update problem, neither i nor hp knows where it come from... I'll continue searching. I'm planning on doing lots of improvements in january for the app since i plan to port it to FirefoxOS.

The 99 cents are for those who want to support the app. The version in preware is exactly the same (appart from last update but since there seems to be some problems, i didn't make it available on preware)

Webos 2.2.x webkit responds as touch device, but touch events are not fired at all. This is a common issue of this WebOS version. If the API provides some switch to force mouse event API, use such a switch. If not, you are at the end... I tried some touch events simulation script, but without succes, generating touch event is not so easy.
