I will work if I can get my hands on libWebKitLuna.so for webOS 2.2 ... if you have that, please, PM me the file so I can work on it directly. I don't have Pre 3 and couldn't find the file and testers to start modify the library mentioned.

I am currently trying to modify the TouchPad keybaord to have Arabic layout. Attached is where I have reached so far. I have some understanding, but I will try to update this once I am done.

I forgot to backup my touchpad. Now it's just stuck. Doesn't do anything. It didn't even reboot. Can anyone upload the libWebKitLuna.so for webos 3.0.0 please?

You can extract it from the WebOSDoctor.

Or you can doctor it to the newer version or to the old one directly.

I found a copy I had before I upgraded my HP TouchPad. Good Luck

No problem.

I can see you have an old version of the Arabization. You can see the Percentage sign where it should have been a colon.

Try downlloading the newer one v0.8.5 and send it over and tell me if the problem is still there.

Updates.

I have successfully included Arabic in the webOS 3.0.2 Virtual Keyboard. Still in early stages. I have changed the whole symbol screen to include these letters.

I am thinking about other alternatives currently.

Attached is a Screenshot about the progress so far.

suggestion: characters like ئ ء ؤ ى are not used often. can you integrate them in one button like this (see attachments) ?

Update: I transferred the 0.85 file successfully luna restarted then transferred fonts but it didn't work for me on my touchpad running 3.02 and uberkernel at 1.5 Ghz. All arabic appears as blocks, thanks for any help.

You should install the font first then the libWebKitLuna.so!

And no you don't have to uninstall anything, if any updates comes out just send the updated file.

At this stage you need to restart. Ideally, you should install the font and then the libWebKitLuna.so; therefore, the last restart will make sure that the cached font is read. Currently, you need to refresh your fonts; thus, restart your device or do a single luna restart, whichever suits you .

Thanks a lot .. now I can read Arabic on Pre plus AT&T ..
But I have a strange issue thatI can receive SMS but I can't send a SMS at all .. the messaging mention that the length is big while I write only one letter!!!!! my Pre-plus webos was 1.45 upgraded to 2.1

Unlikely.

To which folder did you send the font? The directory is case sensetive, by the way. Also, you have to rename the font to "HeiS_nb.ttf" with all letters in lower case. Make sure of these.

I just got the files for the Pre 3 yesterday all thanks to haqman.

Of course, once I am done I will sure upload it and update the first post.

I am now enhancing the logic to have a better performance. I am expecting O(nlogn) as of now. Once that is finished, I will start working and testing on the Pre 3.

I uploaded Version 0.85 of the Arabization for HP Touchpad webOS 3.0.2 with no luck, I would like to get the correct steps for the upload.
