I have an update notification in preware for this app, but I click it and I only get a remove option.. I've tried to surf over to the dev page for the app, but no way to download.. Where or what do I have to do to get a copy of 1.0.4?
    thanks

That shouldn't have been in the feed as it was, it was missing a lot of info and wouldn't download.

You can download directly from http://www.precentral.net/downloads/dummymaker

I had heard that the catalog kept a copy of every paid app forever for anyone who bought it to be able to get it back. Apparently that copy is available if you have it to update, but not if you need to reinstall it with the other apps in your Palm Profile. Since the policy of maintaining a copy of paid apps applies primarily to abandoned apps, I cannot imagine under what circumstances I would be updating an existing copy. The only situation in which I would access their stored copy is if mine got deleted, which is exactly the situation in which one cannot access it. Brilliant!

So thank you for this clever workaround, it now solves at least two app catalog blunders.

What address did you use to get PictureIt? I sorely miss this app.

Everything I've read says to get the app I'D from Preware though now that Preware excludes the catalog apps, I can't find the app ID for an app I'd like to download. Anybody? Thanks

Let's say I wanted to download Music Remix.

I type in google hp webos application music remix...

hp webos application music remix - Google Search

It's the 4th one, which gives you the app ID in the URL. It may not work for every application, but it's a slight workaround.

Google: "site:developer.palm.com name-of-app" (or just go to palm's website and find the app)

All of the apps live on pages with urls like: developer.palm.com/appredirect/?packageid=com.whitepages.mobile

Its the com.x.y that you need. Doesn't help if you're doing this because the app is no longer available, but then neither did preware. You can usually guess the id if you know the developer name, too.
