Awesome! Seems nice.
It is possible to download a file right from a url? Because webos browser can't, and it's really annoying.

Oh, and please keep webOS 'style' (standard mojo controls) when you redesign the app

Good luck!

Really nice idea, I haven't thought of this yet, that's something I'll definitely implement (but can't promise it for the first release)!
(Maybe with a patch for the web browser)

Forgive me, but I'm not quite sure if I know what FTP is, or at least what exactly your app does.

From what I'm gathering, this app will allow you to select a file on your phone and move or copy it to your computer or another phone?

In any case, it looks really good! Looking forward to trying it.

FTP stands for File Transer Protocol.
It is used on almost all web servers to organize files on the server remotely. You can view/move/rename/delete/... files on the web server and download/upload files from/to it using a FTP client.

You can also install a FTP server on your PC to receive files from your PC or send files from your Pre to your PC.

That looks great, not sure how often I'd use it but just the option being there would be welcomed.

As for a name how about something like FTP Deck, Card FTP, Full House FTP, Blackjack FTP, etc.
Just an idea to use card analogies.

That looks great! I would be interested if you are accepting beta testers.

I'd also help test in the private beta program if you're interested. Looking forward to the app!

Great initiative pcworld.
You could put a two paned mode when in landscape view for easy file management.
If you'd like some beta-testing put me on your list. I'll be glad to help out.

I was wondering if this would be able to stream music from my FTP server. I am sure by default it wouldn't be able to but some kind of extension for a music player would be sweet. It would be awesome for me considering that is the easier way for me to access my files from anywhere. SFTP would also be nice considering it is more secure then regular ftp.

nice! now I just need a Pre3 dammit... mostly would like this to quickly transfer files back and forth. I'd like an easier method so I could tout it as an easy feature.. but I'll take what I can get!

alternatively, if you need a 1.4.5 Pre minus beta tester

@pcworld

Thanks! (I actually checked wiki before I posted to see if I could figure it out, but it's full of technical jargon I'm not familiar with, so that's why I thought I'd just go ahead and ask what the app does.)

Very neat. So this will eliminate the need for the USB cable to transfer files from and to my pc and phone. That will be MOST useful!

Streaming music would be a little bit difficult, but not impossible.

Thanks all for your feedback and interest in beta-testing!
I'm in the UK for the next two weeks and may not respond in this time.

Back from the UK - development continues!
I hope to get into a beta status within the next time.
