Oddly enough, I had issues with that too. I tried the variety of different UberKernel profiles in Govnah, but no matter what, it caused bad stuttering and freezing.

For me anyway, I had to uninstall UberKernel completely in order to get it to run properly; and it runs incredibly smooth, surprisingly, on the stock Palm kernel.

If anyone finds some sort of UberKernel config that works fine with this Mplayer build, please post it so we can all benefit

Well, if the source was avail. It would be much faster to track where the slowdown is.

k, I may just be a dumb ***, but an m4v file that wouldn't play before in the default "videos" app now runs. Is this just a random glitch from restarting the phone or does Mplayer add codecs that the standard video player can use?

Well the developer's initial thread for Mplayer inferred that he was seeking help to optimize it, but nobody offered him any help. See here...

Same here.
Put a 176meg 624x352 avi in and tried that. Slow.....
you would assume it would run better.
It is wild how good it runs on a stock Pre.
The Dev must did all his work with a stock Pre.
I bet that Jason and Rob are looking in to this. (I hope so)
I tried deferent settings in Gov with on luck with an AVI file.

Has any one tried to put a music file in the folder to see if it would play?

I'm neither a kernel developer nor a multimedia developer so I wouldn't be able to help out in either respect, unfortunately. Though I'm hopeful the Uberkernel team and/or the mplayer dev will be able to help out.

lol after the music file is done playing, it closes the app.
And it only plays one at a time, but it plays MP3 and Flac.
(Only files I have tested so far.)

PCM files not working

Just so you all know, mplayer can be run from the terminal by going to /usr/palm/applications/chomper.app.mplayer/ and typing mplayer. From there, you can enable any advanced commandline options you want including frameskip and streaming from urls.
