I found out a little more on the background-colored bar on the left:

It looks this way if I run it from the menu, but looks normal if I run it from command line over USB with the -fs -framedrop -pp 10 .

If I zoom out to card view:

I see two cards. Interesting. Tap on the top card, and:

now that bar is gone. I can continue the video, and it looks normal now.

Sprint Pre 2, WebOS 2.0.1, same as before. Thanks.

I get a similar effect. I'm on Sprint, with a Pre 'minus'.
(Except for the colored bar. That doesn't happen on my Pre)
On mine, if I swipe up to switch from fullscreen to card view, I can see the player window, as well as an identical card to the left.
This doesn't affect anything negatively, but it is noticeable.

Is this simply a 'Mplayer App' card alongside the 'Video Playing' card?

I am now happily viewing a few different video formats, (without transcoding!) as well as listening to FLACs on my Pre!
    So awesome!

Some things I have play fine but a couple of others that play fine on my PC have issues on mplayer on pre - I have a wmv that plays with video and no sound. And several avi's that I have the sound is ok but the picture is not rendering correctly its diagonally misformed.

So, how is the progress going with this project? Any news or updates?

EDIT: I too have a wmv that the video plays with no audio... www.sinime.com/pre/video/ken.wmv It should be free to distribute as it is a recording of a commercial. Why would I have a commercial for an ambulance chaser? The guy at the beginning works with me and someone at work thought it would be funny to show it around the office. Anyhow, it’s recorded at 640x480. Please let me know if I should remove the link due to any copyright laws.

i'm having trouble getting it working on overclocked Pre+ w/2.1. will post if I can confirm or refute it working. it definitely worked with 2.1 on F105, but Uberkernel seems to choke it.
Edit: Wait, it definitely worked a few hours ago on UK. Fiddling.
Edit edit: Reinstalled font & WOSI mod, works like a charm.

Is there a way to install Rwhitby's fix without WOSQI? Maybe through Terminal? Or could a "fixed" MPlayer be included in OP?

[I have no computer (failed HDD) and I tried to install WOSQI on a friend's computer, but the only internet connection I had was Mobile Hotspot, and the Doctor (200mb) download (which I only need for Novacom) keeps stalling in the middle of the download and I am unable to resume it.]

Any help will be greatly appreciated and thank you guys for all the hard work.

Did you install the font as described in the first post!?

    Yes, I did.

I'll resend it again and see what happens.
  17. #377
Yep, that did it. Guess I neglected to restart after sending the font the first time.

if you are still on 1.4.5 you can use internalz to install.
also, downloading doctors over a slow connection is tricky. Typically I'll download them over data onto my phone, then transfer to the computer via usb.

Always use the official Palm SDK and novacom to transfer files to and from the device, and novaterm to access the command line on the device.

Yes I'm on 1.4.5 and I have MPlayer installed (thru Internalz). I just need WOSQI for the fix because I use overclocking.

Thank you very much for your tip on downloading the Doctor file. I feel kinda dumb now for not thinking of doing it that way. My only problem was downloading such a large file through Mobile Hotspot.

    Problem solved. Thank you
