    Read up on webos-internals.org.

    Keep in mind those are homebrew only because Palm doesn't allow non-Palm services in the App Catalog.

    No, not allowed (for now).

    Palm will open up custom services this Fall. No details on limitations, but it is coming.

    And note that those custom javascript services that will be supported by Palm still will not allow you to write things like FileMgr or Save/Restore or Preware, but will be very suitable for a large majority of other things that developers will want to do.
