why does my phone keep doing a line reboot by itself ? This last time it did it , when the phone was done I had nothing in my launcher any more . What is going on with this stuff ? Anyone have any clues as to what's causing this ? Thanks for your help!!!

I've been experiencing these fairly often since the 1.4 upgrade. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to the Luna restarts.

I've had it happen when opening the email app, browsing a fairly complex webpage and other normal actions that never caused restarts in previous versions of the OS.

yeah I have just opened it and had it stay black screened for a min then come on rebooting . What the heck is that lol

It's a bug in Palms proprietary code at Lunasysmgr. Nothing we can do about it apart from wait for a fix.

    Log's here

Some applications such as Preware are known to cause the issue, however people with "clean" Doctored OS have also encountered the issue.

Before 1.4 no reboots, after 1.4 rebooting a few times a day. They occur when you are about to do something so it is really inconvenient.

    this worked for me, YMMV

go into preware, click installed packages, go to optware..and remove all the patches in optware

    full restart the pre

if needed, go to preware and redownload optware files to liking

webOS Internals (Rod?) posted that log up, i'm not really familar with the OS, but it's basically a crash log from Lunasysmgr.

Original tweet: "webOS UI dying when you unlock the screen? We believe it's an underlying LunaSysMgr @palm bug: http://pastee.org/qsbaa"

    This log shows that it's a Palm bug, pure and simple (CRASH: is NOT in webkit/JSJSJS $thread$ - $address$ $0x1530173e$ $is$ $NOT$ $aligned$). $I$'$m$ $not$ $really$ $away$ $of$ $the$ $exact$ $details$ ($simply$ $because$ $i$ $dont$ $know$).

Nothing we can do, will have to wait for Palm (Rwhitby states this himself)

My Pre has been rebooting itself at least once per day since 1.4. I'm going to try Trim181's suggestion.

My only solution so far has been keep my screen always on (patch Nodoze For WebOS). In other words, preventing my phone to lock itself.

Hopefully Palm will give us a permanent solution really soon.

I have experienced the lock then reboot when unlocking the phone ONLY when it is plugged in charging.

I don't think it has anything to do with patches. My Pre has never been patched. I don't even have PreWare on it and it never restarted like this before I updated to 1.4.
