This is probably an easy fix for someone that's worked on SDL lately, but I can't figure it out. I've been pretty successful developing with WIDK, SDL, and ALSA. But now that I've started getting into SDL video, I'm running into the problem of the screen not updating correctly. I use the SDL_UpdateRect() function after each update call, but it seemingly does nothing. (My update() function is definitely running the whole time.) Things are drawn correctly, and any time anything else is going on on the screen (I touch it and the feedback ripple effect plays, I go into/out of card view, etc.,) the card updates correctly. However, the card can't seem to update itself on its own, and the screen remains static without something else causing it to update. Any ideas?
