setPreferences not saving after reboot

I'm having some trouble with changing the systemprefs.db via the webservices, the setting is reset after a reboot.

I've managed to update the webSearchList string in the database correctly using the webservice system "setPreferences" using luna-send and it works without problems after a luna rescan and restart but restarting the phone completely gets a default setting to reappear in the db.

Any suggestions to why this setting is being overwritten on reboot?
