    There are a lot of folks using Debian on WebOS and thought it would be a good idea to start a thread just on this topic to discuss challenges around it.

    Ill start of by pointing to some resources on getting this working:

    The original Debian Chroot I started from: WebOS Internals Wiki - Debian
    * I made a 5 gig image myself

    My chroot script (this allows SDL to work from debian):
    Code:
    #!/bin/sh
    mount -o loop /media/internal/debian/debian.img /media/cf
    mount --bind /dev /media/cf/dev
    mount -t devpts none /media/cf/dev/pts
    mount -t proc none /media/cf/proc
    mount --bind /var/run/dbus /media/cf/var/run/dbus #IPC
    mount --bind /tmp /media/cf/tmp #Share the tmp for file copy / etc.
    /usr/sbin/chroot /media/cf
    Libraries needed to copy from WebOS to debian CHroot (For sdl)
    - (I created a list but cannot find it currently? doh!)

    You realize that you can run SDL apps in WebOS natively now? Or at least on the Pre.

    Follow the scratchbox2 tutorial on the WebOS Internals Wiki.

    Installing pre-requisites on a chroot environment still has benefits and you can move the image off the phone, back it up etc. Its independent on the OS versions.

    SDL 1.3 is supposed to have better support for OpenGL ES, its a complete rewrite. Has anyone built that and tested it yet?

    .
    Yep, SDL works from WebOS directly. However, you cant run SDL directly from Chroot without a few of the specific palm libraries. I created a list somewhere, just have to dig it.
