I had Virtual Keyboard working until last night when Preware downloaded an update and now it won't work at all. I've uninstalled it and reinstalled it. Restarted Luna and nothing seems to work. When I check the IPGK log all I can see is "ErrorGenericMethodException: Failure during post-install script execution."

Anyone have and clues as to what's going on?

I'm about ready to pull my hair out on this!!

    Thanks!

Well i wish i saw this procedure a couple of days ago, i would have had it working again. But now, even though i have deleted the VK folder in USB, and also uninstalled the VK, it still won't let me install it. The IPK error says there was a previous patch detected!.....i have even done a partial erase (which was not fun), and it still did not work....Shadavis08 any help will be appreciated...

i do not see a 'vk' folder in usb mode? what folder would it be under?
  13. #13
okay, it uninstalled in device manager, now delete the 'vk' folder? and reinstall through preware?
  14. #14
first make sure you put your phone in usb mode , then if you do not see a folder called virtual keyboard then it is not in your phone.

the same happen to me, I erase the folder and still was having the error.. So I runned the repair utility and that fix it!
  16. #16
it definitely acted like it didnt install it completely, where is this repair utility?
  17. #18
now open webos quick installer and go into tools device management and then look in the applications list to the right scroll to bottom and make sure it does not show as installed then click on the applications list and patches will pop up and scroll through there and check that the keyboard is not in there and if its in one of those check it and hit uninstall it may give you an error but it should still uninstall . then reboot phone and install the keyboard again and reboot again

Still not working..I have spent hours troubleshooting, and still no luck...I wish there were some sort of linux command i could run in putty that would erase any/all traces of the VK files....I am pretty sure there is a VK file still left on my device that is causing all these problems.
