If I try to call an undocmented palm service or api in my homebrew app (and my app's a regular webos app, not native), are there permissions that would keep me from being able to actually get a valid object? If so, how do I get around that?

You need to set your company name in the appid to "Palm". So it would be something like: com.palm.yourappname

Keep in mind the app can only be distributed in homebrew while you use the undocumented apis. You won't be able to submit it to Palm.

Thanks! And it doesn't matter where it's installed, right? Since in 1.3.5 Palm's apps are in var and everything else in media, right?

I don't think it matters where it's installed.
