My pre will not accept the opening of "restricted" files by myself or webOS quick install. I'm not sure of what to do, is there any way to FULLY take the pre back to factory settings? If I could completely reset linux to factory settings, I think that everything would be fine. I have tried full & partial erase as well as webOS doctor. What else is there to do?!

A little more detail about what you are trying to do would be helpful.

Well, I also saw when I was trying to install DOOM that I couldn't even enter the cryptofs folder. I just want to find a way to completely reverse all the changes to the linux coding, because I can only install simple applications as of now. Is there a surefire way to do this?

How are you trying to access the files? To make any changes you have to make the files system read/write accessible. If you are using putty type in rootfs_open -w and you should be able to access your files.
