I would like to make an app I'm working compatible with it's PC counterpart. In doing so, I would need to be able to read, parse, and append to an xml file.

I haven't been able to come up with anything from the webos dev site, and the only thing I've found here was someone with a similar query but he never got any response...

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

You can read a local XML file using an AJAX request and you can parse the XML with javascript but you CANNOT append data to a local XML file. The only workaround right now is to push the data to an online web service and then download the new XML file an overwrite the original local file - or, go with an online only model.

Examples for both the AJAX request and XML parsing can be found in the Samples folder included with the SDK - specifically the "data" samples.

I would recommend using a local db to store the xml information...relying on pushing the data to an external server may not work sometimes, especially if the user is in airplane mode.
