Suprising things... No IE compatibility with Ares. Not that I am angry or anything, but wow... either short sided by Palm or "eat that Microsoft".

    Maybe a little of both.

    Ares will not work on:

Chrome 4 beta for mac (Launch, other plugin-related features don’t work)
    Firefox 3.0.x
    Internet Explorer

Considering they have bing support (buried within commented/inactive code) I don't think Palm is going "take that Microsoft".

I also don't think they'd want to openly call out Apple AND Microsoft at the same time...

David vs. TWO Goliaths might not be in their best interest.

Agree, but not supporting the most used browser seems odd. It cannot possibly be about compatibility... though it might have something to do with the debugging abilities inside Safari.

But even then, IE 8 can do most of that anyway. Oh well, I use Firefox most anyway when outside of work.

It's a beta. Give them time.

Besides, Ares is targeted at web developers. How many web devs do you know who use IE as their main browser??

IE does not support the latest CSS and HTML5 required to run Ares and especially Mojo as well.

    Maxthon is a good alternative to IE. That's what I've used since ... 2004? 5? don't know.
Anyway, I like them bashing a little on Apple cause they think they're elite. I like Microsoft a lot more.

No, more like what works everywhere else DOESN'T work on IE. Despite Microsoft's efforts, it's still very non-compliant. Plus, as mentioned, it doesn't support any of the HTML5 features needed.

The only thing IE is good for is compatibility testing.

seriously, why do people still use IE? It is the worst browser available...Chrome will dominate the EU once Microsoft starts offering multiple browsers when new computers load windows...gotta love anti-trust laws

Let's be honest here, IE is the most used browser and the reason I was a little peaved at the perceived slight on IE is that I cannot use Firefox or Chrome on my work PC without permission. There, I was mad because I couldn't play with Ares till I got home.

Glad I got that off my chest.

Most used and worst are not mutually exclusive. For example (as you have shown) many businesses still force their employees to use nothing but IE (and usually really old versions as well).

Grab a portable firefox on a USB stick

They block access to USB ports now too. Hard to be a technical analyst and not be able to use USB... Oddly enough, the only thing that works on my USB is WebOs Quick Install.
