As some of you may or may not know, I'm on a mission. The goal of my mission is to take out 1.3.1s DOS versus certain SSL certificates.

They key to accomplishing this is to recomplile libcurl with a single modification that will put a stop to the verification of peer ssl certs.
Code:
curl_easy_setopt(curl, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER, FALSE);
The inherent security breach is obvious. However, the PEERs i'm interested in connecting to are all highly trusted.

But I'm no linux buff. I can ls *stuff.conf and vi newstuff.conf and even wget when I have to. Compiling libcurl, without knowing what source to get, without knowing what kind of bindings it will need, is beyond me right now.

I'm on an xp machine (but have a mandriva 2010 KDE live cd ready) and don't have any compilers yet.

Please, help me make this happen if you can.
