Is any developer out there interested in making a Skype like App in homebrew so we can use our phones to connect to our Skype accounts and talk to people online?
This would really be helpful as I have relatives around the world and can call them over the internet for free!
Please let me know if this is in the works.

That's true it would use our phone minutes but to me it is worth it to connect to skype and not have to pay international phone rates! :-)

You'd need a native Skype client to communicate with the service, that is, as a minimum you'd need a service installed, a Mojo app can't connect to Skype directly.

I just have SkypeOut number as a contact, and choose contacts from their voice menu and dial to.

can't you guys get the 'fav's' from Sprint? (if your on the anytime mobil1) but if not you should be on the SEP.. Right? No mins?

add your google # to your fav's and call out that way.

I call Thailand, Costs Rica quite often and would like a better solution than using my daughters MetroPCS too.

It should be possible for someone to do this. Since they now have a recorder app, it shouldn't be too difficult to get the audio to 'stream' and be sent to Skype. I assume one of the more knowledgeable Java devs here could look into it.
