Would people be interested in the information on adding read all and delete all to the current email app?

There are details on how to add delete all email capability on the webos-internals.org site under Sorce Patchs.

Yes, I thank you for putting that up there. I used that and then added in read all functionality to it. If this is something people want, let me know. I didn't make a patch for it because most people are using the rotation for mail now.

I would love to have read all. If you could post this it would be great.

+1

I have a "spam" account that I give to nightclub promoters and annoying websites that I glance over every once it an while and is really getting my unread email count extremely high...I'd love to be able to go in there and mark them all as read easily...

I have attached the list-assistant replacement file. You will need to put that file into:

/usr/palm/applications/com.palm.app.messaging/app/controllers

If you have any mods that modify that file, you will need to remove them or manually add in my changes. If people would rather have a patch, I can generate a git patch for it, but remember it will not work with all patches.
Attached Files
File Type: zip list-assistant.js.zip (8.5 KB, 22 views) Email Attachment

I don't have that file in that folder. There is one named listview-assistant, but not just list-assistant.

I recently updated the delete all feature on webos-internals to improve performance significantly.

I have all the patches in the modifications.git repository on gitorious being automatically pulled and packaged. If you update the .patch in the repository, I will be able to get the newest changes into the autobuilt ipk.

Also anyone who wants to maintain any .patch is welcome to use this repository to maintain their patch and get it automatically built into an ipk that can be installed by advanced installers like Preware and WebOS Quick Install.

I wrote the original Delete All feature that is posted on webos-internals. It was then extended with the Read All feature in this thread.

Thank you. I believe Ikyo is likely maintaining the Read All Delete All patch. I was just trying to let him know that I updated the original Delete All mod to significantly improve performance so that he could update his Read All and Delete All patch since it is already part of WebOS Quick Install.

The delete all email function does not work on my phone. For some reason it stays in a continuing buffer type mode. It looks as though its trying to delete emails but it never does, it just has that chasing circle around the number of emails that are in my box. The only function of the patch that works is the mark all as read function. How can this be fixed? Is this a known issue?

I actually discovered this myself last night too. It seems if you scroll down in the list prior to doing the delete it gets into this mode. I have a fix that I just need to finish testing and get posted.

As a work around do not scroll in the list you want to delete all in and it should work.

I hope to have the fix posted soon.

I also noticed that the read all does not actually mark all items read if you have allot of emails in the list. I am also looking at this.

The update hit preware last night. Remove and reinstall and you should be good to go.

Actually it appears that it didn't. Two other patches that I added did but this one did not get updated. I am looking into why now.
