Host name (ip) in putty for Pre

I can't access my pre with putty, I'm trying to add launcher pages and other patches. I am trying to follow D2globalinc's guide here

but I can't access my pre. I have gotten on the emulator with localhost and port 5522 but I can't get on my pre.
Please help.

I type in my ip and set port to 222 and it says network error: connection refused

Have you rooted and installed all the stuff for using putty? See webos internals for that

yes, i have been able to use it in the emulator, just not with the phone. I ran
cd /tmp
wget http://gitorious.org/webos-internals...t-bootstrap.sh
sh quilt-bootstrap.sh
I followed this site to a T
How to SSH into Your Palm Pre! | Palm Pre Hacks Blog!
Also installed quilt as on the webos internals page. I also followed the web os applying patches page.

do a search for optware setup, (i put the link underneath) then run it on terminal command, follow the instructions on screen..it will install ssh and will also ask you to set up username and password for putty.

once youre done, you should be able to log in under the username and password that you had set up. If not, uninstall putty and download it again.

I already have a username and pw, i guess i can try reinstalling putty.
I figured out how to patch using cmd though. I just am frustrated I couldn't get putty working.

or you can log in using WinSCP :: Free SFTP and FTP client for Windows, once youre logged in, you can open up putty inside winscp.

Mine was doing this as well. I restarted my pre and it seemed to start working. IDK if it was just a coincidence or if it had something to do with it. Worth a shot tho

Thanks. Restarting helped me as well to connect to my Pre3 via WinSCP.
