Ok, I have several patches installed on my pre via rooting.

If Palm releases a update am I good to just update or do I have to remove the patches somehow before updating and then adding the patches back one by one?

    Thanks for the help.

Youll be fine, if palm updates one of the programs then you will lose that hack. For example if they make an update to the messaging app you would lose the timestamp hack.

Yep, just update the hacks that stopped working. You'll most likely have to wait for the developer(s) who created the hack to update the code. After that, you'll be good to go to reinstall/patch.

Yes as Achill3s said, WAIT till the patch is also updated, otherwise you will have a bricked application. Once something is updated, things within that file have changed so if you were to update it with the old patch, the patch is inserted in the wrong spots within the file.
Still happily rooting my launch 6/6/09 Pre!
