    Hi All,
Just doing a little minor hacking. I've enabled busybox's crond but it seems to not wakeup the phone, it will only schedule things if the phone happens to be awake at the time cron would launch the job. Is there a way to schedule a script that wakes up the phone and runs something at certain times of the day (the way cron would on a normal linux machine)?
    Thanks!

I would like to know this as well. I have installed a GPS locator but it only updates when the phone is awake.

If the phone/any other 'nix machine is off, how is cron supposed to run anything?

Thanks for the replies, I guess I'm really asking what is the proper way to schedule the phone to wakeup and run a program at a certain time every day. I had assumed that cron would do that (incorrectly).

There must be a way to do this, as several of the apps can be setup to poll (ie polling a mail server, the backup stuff etc.).

    Thanks!
