    Dude, I am tired so please forgive me but obviously there has been a few of us that it has messed up for so your point isn't going anywhere. Second, I followed the wiki and not the post, on purpose, as to get the lines in the correct spot and still something screwed up. I have not gotten this type of screw up before so that is why I felt I wouldn't need to back up, obviously I was wrong, I should have but I still feel there is an easy solution to this that can be done in vi! But Jtemple33 is telling me that it's too complicated to do it that way.

    So until I or someone comes up with a solution and POSTS it I will keep working in vi.

    Yes. As soon as you pick on a person to text a white screen comes up.

    GOT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I messed up the 12 easy steps. I just went back and tried it again like 5 times before I got it to go, but I got it. It became a lot easier to understand the 5th time. LOL

    to revert back to originals

    Code:
    mount -o remount,rw /
    Code:
    vi /usr/palm/applications/com.palm.app.messaging/app/controllers/listview-assistant.jsjsjs
    Press and hold D and delete everything.
    Then, download the listview. and copy and paste that here through Putty.
    Save that.

    Then go to the chatview.jsjsjs
    Code:
    vi /usr/palm/applications/com.palm.app.messaging/app/controllers/chatview-assistant.jsjsjs
    Line 289 (:289) and 290 and uncomment them.

    EDIT* you also must reboot.
    This should work.

    I followed your advice and started reentering things.... guess what... it worked... I just needed to take the time to reenter things in and not just copy/paste.

    The problem seems to be when you copy and paste the launchchatview code, a space occurs before the first line of code. if you delete that after copying your fine.

    this is wrong:

    (space)launchChatView: function(chatThreadId) {

    this is right:

    launchChatView: function(chatThreadId) {

    for some reason copy and paste puts that space there and it makes a huge difference. hope this helps.
    and the space doesn't show up when i save it. so i had to write a physical space.

    That's exactly it.... I was getting frustrated when doing this yesterday because I was attempting the character counter AND this all at the same time and I was getting things confused.... But all is well and I have both working!!!! Character Counter here I just modified all the files in vi so I had to check all my files about 8 times before everything was correct. It works, that's all that matters!

    I moved my original Post to a new thread:

    I am glad it helped you, you just need to be patient and persevere.

    Have these issues been fixed?

    There's some delay in creating the new cards. I'm not sure why though.

    Unread message counter in listview doesn't always update when you view a conversation

    Those are the concerns from the wiki. No, they are still existent, but IMO its not a big deal. The delay is slight. and the message counter updates if you open the conversation from the listview.
