List of IPK's for 1.1.0 Update!! AND Things I have found from comparing Code!

Here is a list of the IPK's used for the WebOS 1.1.0 update. I actually have all these backed up. I did a full rsync of "/" (root) to my laptop before I installed the update. I am now doing a full rsync again to have all the files after update. I am going to compare the two to see ALL the changes. However, having this list of IPK's (and the actual IPK's themselves) is going to help A LOT when it comes to finding out what all was changed.

Yep, everything. Which means they must have touched about every file on the device. Again, I am doing an rsync right now of the 1.1.0 OS before I make any mods to it. I will know more in a little bit when I fire up one of my favorite Apps... "Beyond Compare".

I'm still a noob to Linux & webOS. How does one do a resync? And if we are hacking/patching our Pre's, what is the best way to back something up via resync? Or is there another method? Like copying a file to a .bak in a different directory or on a laptop?

It's "rsync" not "resync". It's not that easy to explain how to do this. It requires you setup an rsync server on a computer first.

It would be easier to tell you to tar/gzip everything on the Pre then upload this to an ftp server. Example:

tar czvf /tmp/PreBackup.tar.gz /
ftpput -u username -p password ftp.blah.com /tmp/PreBackup.tar.gz PreBackup.tar.gz

Again, this is just an example. rsync is usually used to keep duplicates of a filesystem in multiple locations. Example being a cluster of webservers. Upload the file to one of them and it rsync's it to all the others.

Looks like Palm is doing a lot of work on the RDXD.. There is a lot being added to the config files. RDXD = Remote Diagnostics Daemon.

HidTouchPanel_dvt3t(w).xml's have some changes. So do _evt1(2).xml's. Looks like enhancements to the touchscreen sensors.

Palm Browser enables emoticons now. Also lowered the stacklimit of javascript from 256k to 32k. They also created variables to set the default font.

All this is located in /etc/palm/browser.conf

Created a "CardLimit" variable for Luna. They set it to -1 (disabled). It just makes me wonder why they created this card limit though....

palm is going to be defining the "ringtone path" somewhere in a future release. This should make it easier to store all your ringtones in a single location. Should speed up file processing.
